Survivorship Is Only the Beginning
Perci Health cancer survivorship begins with co-founder Kelly McCabe, who, after 15 years in oncology, saw firsthand how reactive and fragmented post-treatment care had become.
“People received excellent treatment for their cancer, but everything else was missing,” McCabe said.
Fatigue, mental health, and long-term effects were left unaddressed. That gap in care inspired Perci Health—a virtual cancer survivorship clinic designed to treat the whole person.
Constructing What the System Wouldn’t
Perci Health was founded on vision and urgency. McCabe and her co-founder Morgan rethought cancer treatment by combining their extensive clinical skills with their knowledge of digital transformation.
“The system wasn’t going to build this for us,” McCabe said. “So we did.”
Their goal? A scalable, accessible, patient-first platform—without compromising medical quality.
AI With a Human Touch
Perci Health doesn’t use AI to replace doctors—it uses it to enhance and personalize care.
Their system captures symptom and behavioral data in real time, dynamically adjusting care plans. Patients are matched with specialists—from psychologists to fatigue experts—based on current needs.
“This isn’t about replacing clinical judgment; it’s about scaling it,” McCabe said.
Earning Trust in a Regulated Industry
In a world of wellness apps and DIY health, Perci Health positions itself firmly as a healthcare provider.
- Fully governed by clinical standards
- A team of specialists only
- Evidence-based care from the ground up
“We’re not simplifying cancer. We’re tackling it with the depth and precision it deserves,” McCabe added.
Leadership That Looks Different
Kelly McCabe raised investment while pregnant—an experience rarely talked about in startup culture.
She said leaders can share responsibility, show vulnerability, and become stronger as a result.
With support from her co-founder and investors, McCabe redefined what resilient, inclusive leadership can look like in healthcare innovation.
Backed by Macmillan Cancer Support
A major milestone: Macmillan Cancer Support invested in Perci Health through its Innovation Impact Fund.
“This was more than funding—it was validation,” McCabe noted.
The partnership signals a broader shift in healthcare, where tech and charity work together toward better patient outcomes.
A System Still in Progress
Healthcare innovation is slow and complex. Perci Health is navigating that reality with patience and clarity.
“You have to respect the system. Build the evidence. “Measure value in flexible ways,” McCabe advised.
Her mantra for founders? “Work with the system, not against it.”
