Fire Danger in Colorado
Red Flag Warnings are active across the Denver metro area and eastern Colorado through Tuesday afternoon. With winds reaching up to 50 mph and humidity levels dropping to 10%, fire conditions remain hazardous.
However, northern Colorado and the northeastern plains are not under warnings, as weather conditions there fall below the threshold for fire alerts.
Strong Winds Expected
A High Wind Warning remains in effect through Wednesday for parts of eastern Colorado, where gusts could hit 60 mph. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and stay cautious on the roads.
Rain and Snow Incoming
An incoming storm system will bring a sharp temperature drop, with rain and snow expected across the state. The Denver weather forecast predicts precipitation beginning Tuesday evening. The cold front will sweep through the region, shifting winds and lowering temperatures.
In the high country, Winter Weather Advisories are active until Wednesday at 6 a.m., with up to 12 inches of snow possible in some mountain areas.
- Denver and the I-25 corridor may see minimal snow, with a light dusting expected.
- Parts of eastern Colorado could receive 1-2 inches of snow by Wednesday evening.
Cooler Temperatures Ahead
As the storm system exits, temperatures will dip. Highs across Colorado Springs and Denver are expected to reach the 40s by Wednesday.
